International House of Prayer (IHOP) to change name to IHOb

Church Life

Yesterday’s news of the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) changing their name to the International House of Burgers (IHOb) has meant that there is now no longer any confusion with the International House of Prayer (also IHOP) based in Kansas City (and hence called IHOPkc).

This move means the number of people coming in the prayer house and offering up petitions for pancakes and other breakfast items should reduce over time.

However, determined to ensure the confusion continued Mike Bickle stated that the International House of Prayer (IHOP) would henceforth be called the International House of Bacon (IHob).

Asked about the move, a spokesperson stated,

“we have seen so many people seeking breakfast but encountering the living God instead – that we need to ensure that this form of evangelism continues.”

When asked specifically about the use of bacon in the name, they replied

“Bethlehem means house of bread and is symbolic of God providing for our needs, bacon distinguishes Christianity from Jews and Muslims and is symbolic of every good and perfect gift the Father gives us which should be received with thanksgiving and a bread roll with ketchup.”
