Salty Cee seeks help writing satirical article on US Government Shutdown 2019

The US government shutdown continues into its 16th day with no signs that any progress has been made.

This seems like too good an opportunity for a satirical article but what would be the funniest take on it?

Perhaps comparing it to the impasse faced at a church meeting over carpet colour?

Or maybe a joke about how no-one has noticed?

Or perhaps a subtle stab saying the shutdown was resolved in 20 minutes after congressmen’s salary was stopped?

Maybe a joke about how all the congressmen were taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar into Babylon after failing to give the promised land of America a Sabbath break from their partisanship?

Or even something profound like the Mexico wall builds a wall in congress?

But are any of these actually funny?  Or are there better ones? Let us know!
