Man bags slammed by evangelicals
The new fashion accessory for men, the man bag, has been slammed by evangelical church leaders across denominations.
“This is clearly a handbag just renamed,” fumed Pastor Jed Thomason, “just because it’s got the word ‘man’ in it does not by any stretch of the imagination make it manly.”
Liberal theologian
“Jesus said he was like a mother hen not that he actually was a mother hen – similarly men can say they like women’s bags but not actually wear one,” replied Jed, “the Bible clearly says in Deuteronomy that a man must not wear women’s clothing and that includes man bags and probably hair buns too for good measure.”
Dr N T Wrong retorted, “That’s under the Old repressive covenant – whereas the Son has set us free from such constraints so that we can express ourselves more fully.”
“A heretic says what?”
“Bigot!”
“Liberal!”
“Pharisee!”
“Poopy head!”
“That is SO offensive!”
Well, we at the Cee will gently step away from this intellectual debate as their in-depth hermeneutical argument flies over our heads.
