Church condemns domestic violence in 2050

Church Life

Readers, friends, and the rest of you, we bring you exciting news about the church from the future!

Yes it’s true – due to a temporary rift in the space time continuum we were blessed to receive an email from the future to our Salty Cee headquarters London (just down the road from the Queen).

2050 – Today marked the day when the Church universally condemned domestic violence!  All the mainstream and fringe denominations, as well as the non-denominational ones, signed a document agreeing to condemn any violence between spouses in the home. Scholars have dubbed the new movement the “New Common Sense.”

“We are delighted by how fast church council’s were able to agree on this,” said Pope Zhang Wei, “We were expecting at least another 75 years.  This is without doubt a certifiable miracle!”

Other church committee’s around the world were similarly in awe of the speed, pastor Jerry Simpson stated, “With this issue sorted we can now get down to the serious business of choosing the carpet color.”

Churches are now committed to hearing out both men and women who claim to have been abused and then referring them to professionals.  This supersedes the previous tradition of blaming the women for not being a Proverbs 31 wife.

Each church that signed has promised to have anti-violence assistance be as common in their buildings as bland coffee and/or the singing of out-of-date worship songs.

U.S. President Jean Dejacque (LP) had this to say, “This is the start to a new era of progress. I’m glad to see the church leading the charge and I hope other secular institutions will follow suite.”

We at the Cee hope you are as excited as we are to hear of the Kingdom expanding to transform the world.
