Big Tech Parler purge causes “great disturbance in the Force,” says Obi-Wan

News

Last week saw Twitter permanently ban Donald Trump from its platform, followed by Facebook, Instagram and…*checks notes*…Pinterest.

This was the final straw for many on the right who had seen increasing censorship on Twitter and had been told “it’s a private company, if you don’t like it just make your own platform.”

Hence, Parler did that, and those fed up with Twitter moved en masse there only to have both Apple and Google remove Parler from their app stores and then Amazon cease hosting them.  But apparently according to Section 230, “They’re private companies, if you don’t like it just make your own phone operating system and web hosting company.”

The effect of this Big Tech purge was so great that Obi-Wan commented, “I felt a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of voices suddenly criy out in Trump’s name then were suddenly silenced… I feel something terrible has happened.”

However, commentator Han Solo added, “I’ve flown from one side of America to the other; I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff. But I’ve never seen anything to make me believe that there’s one all-powerful Force controlling the internet. There’s no mystical CEO that controls my free speech.”
