Rumours abound of Jussie Smollett Oscar nomination

News

Rumours have surfaced that Jussie Smollett has received an Oscar nomination for best actor in his recent performance of “Cry Wolf”.

On January 29, Smollett allegedly performed the masterpiece at about 2am as he was on his way home after buying a sandwich at his local Chicago Subway.

This drama involved two ‘white men’ who shouted ‘This is MAGA country’ before tying a rope around his neck, pouring bleach on him all the while yelling racist and homophobic slurs,

The Nigerian actors, Abimbola ‘Abel’ and Olabinjo ‘Ola’ Osundairo, are also rumoured to have received Oscar nominations for their supporting role in this play.  In particular, their ability to play white men was masterful.

However, some critics claim their use of “whiteface” during the performance was racist.

“We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by Academy members has in fact shifted the trajectory of our nominations,” Academy president John Bailey said.

“Sadly, we were unable to find evidence of a performance so we’ve reached out to the Empire cast member’s agent to request a follow-up performance.”

Jussie Smollett has furiously denied claims that he wrote the play and said “nothing could be further from the truth”.  However, fellow actors say that this is just Jussie being humble.

If these rumours turn out to be true then it is sure to provide a turning point in his career for Jussie whose role has just been written out of Empire.  In particular, there has been great demand for his performances at the local penitentiary.
