Christian forgets to post about Lent social media fast

Church Life

Like many Christians, Alice, gave up social media for Lent.  However, unlike all those other Christians Alice completely forgot to post about it on social media.

“I can’t believe I forgot! Now how do I let them know?” said a distraught Alice.

Alice has wrestled with this problem for five weeks.  For to post now on social media would break her fast. Although she discovered through careful research that Lent doesn’t technically include the Sunday’s and so she could post about it then – but this would require that she monitors her post to explain to all those who are confused and think she is a hypocrite.  Although, she’s sure that God would understand this urgent need to break her fast it would then require yet even more posts to explain why she was replying to comments…

“It’s so hard to do the right thing and make sure everyone knows about it,” sighs Alice, “I mean what’s the point in giving something up for Lent if nobody knows?”

Indeed, for as James 2:26 says, faith without virtue signalling is dead, and we have it on good authority that giving up something for Lent without letting anyone know doesn’t actually count towards holiness.

So dear reader, we ask that you learn from Alice’s fail and put a reminder in your diary for next year to post about what you’re giving up for Lent
